Effective October 14, 2026
This policy explains what Skelly collects, why, and what you can do about it. Skelly is owned by Snipe Slugz ("we", "us") and developed for us by Madebyreko Studio. The short version: we collect what the game needs to run your account and online play, plus simple play statistics (which caps, courts and modes are played, and on what kind of phone) that help us make Skelly better. You can switch the statistics off at any time. There are no ads in Skelly today and no third-party analytics or tracking tools, and we never sell or share your data.
What we collect
- Your player name, which other players see on leaderboards and in game rooms.
- Your email and password, only if you choose to save your account. Your password is stored scrambled (hashed), so no one, including us, can read it. We use your email to sign you in, confirm your address and, if you ask, help you set a new password. We send news or offers only if you switch that on (see below).
- Your game record: experience points, games, wins, losses, knockouts, best box and streaks, your challenge levels and stars, and your ranked rating and ranked games. These are used for your profile and the leaderboards.
- Friends: your tag (the number after your name, so friends can find you), your friends and friend requests, invites to game rooms, and when you were last online, so your friends can see that you're on the block. Only your friends see whether you're online.
- Ranked matchmaking: while you're looking for a ranked match we hold your rating, cap and the court you chose, to pair you with a player near your level. It's removed once you're matched or stop looking.
- Play statistics, unless you switch them off: for each finished game, the mode (against the computer, pass and play, online or ranked), the court, how many players, the difficulty, the cap and fill you used, whether you won, and how long the game took.
- Device type, unless you switch statistics off: the platform and operating system version (for example "iOS 26.5" or "Android 15"), the model name your phone reports (for example "iPhone16,2"), whether it's a phone or tablet, the app version and your graphics setting. This is the kind of phone, not which phone: we don't collect device identifiers, serial numbers or advertising IDs.
- Days you played: which days your account was active, so we can count how many people play each day, week and month.
- Your cloud save: your caps, your player's look, the pieces you've won or bought, your challenge progress and your settings for them, so they come back on a new phone.
- Purchases: when the shop opens, buying is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your card or payment details; we receive a confirmation of what you bought, so we can unlock it and restore it on your account.
- Online games: the game room code, who is in it, your cap and look, the emoji reactions sent in the room, and the state of the board while you play.
- Reports you send us: if you report a problem or send feedback or an idea from Settings, we keep what you wrote, whether it's a bug, feedback or an idea, your app version and the kind of phone (platform, OS version and model name), and the email address you give for our answer (or your account's confirmed email, if you leave it blank). We use that email only to answer that report and to tell you when it's fixed. Our answers are kept with it, and you can read them in Settings.
- What happened before a bug or a crash: the game keeps a short record of the last few minutes of play on your phone: the buttons you tapped and the screens you opened, the shots taken and how they were judged, errors, failed connections, and now and then its frame rate and memory use. It holds no names you typed, no email, no passwords and no chat. When you report a bug, this record goes with it unless you switch it off on the report. If the game closes while you're playing, it sends the record from that session as a crash report the next time it starts, with your app version and kind of phone, unless you've switched off play statistics. We use these only to find and fix problems, and delete them after 90 days.
- Gifts: if the Skelly team gives you a cap, a piece for your look or XP, we keep a record of what was given and when you picked it up.
- Your mailbox: the letters the Skelly team sends you or everyone, and which ones you've read, claimed or deleted. A reward you claim from a letter is kept with your account like any other gift.
- Players you block: the list of players you've blocked, so they can't add you as a friend or invite you, you aren't matched with them in ranked, and their name shows as "Blocked player" to you. They aren't told.
- Reports about players: if you report a player, we store who reported whom, the reason and where it happened. The reported player isn't told who reported them.
- Sign-in keys: a random key stored on your phone keeps you signed in. We keep only a scrambled copy of it.
- Technical data: your IP address is used briefly to stop abuse (like too many sign-in attempts) and isn't stored by the game. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability.
News and offers by email (optional)
If you have an email on your account, you can switch on "News and offers by email" in Settings, under Account. Only then will we email you now and then about new caps, courts, features and offers. It's off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it off there at any time, or by replying to any of those emails. If you don't switch it on, your email is used only for signing in and the account emails above. We never share, sell or rent the list.
Turning play statistics off
In Settings, under Privacy, switch off "Share play statistics". From then on the game stops sending play statistics, device type and crash reports. Your game record and leaderboard places still work, because they're part of playing online. Statistics already sent stay with your account until you delete it, or email us and we'll remove them.
Ads
Skelly has no ads today. We may later offer optional ads you can choose to watch for a reward, such as an hour with a premium cap. Before any ad appears in Skelly we'll update this policy to say which ad provider is used and what it collects, and you'll never have to watch one to play.
What we don't collect
No location, contacts, photos, microphone, advertising IDs, device identifiers or tracking across other apps and websites. No third-party analytics or advertising tools are built into Skelly; play statistics go only to our own server.
On your phone
Skelly saves your settings, progress, caps and look on your phone so you can play offline. This stays on your phone unless you use online features.
How we use it
To run your account and sign you in, save and restore your progress, show leaderboards, run online games, keep names clean and act on reports, and protect the service from abuse. We use play statistics and device types, mostly as totals (for example "how many games were played on the Bronx court this week" or "how many players use Android 15"), to understand how Skelly is played, which caps and courts people enjoy, and which phones to test and optimise for. We rely on providing the service you asked for, on our legitimate interest in keeping the game safe, fair and improving it (which you can object to by switching statistics off), and on your consent for news and offers.
Who can see it
Other players see your name, cap, look and game results in leaderboards and game rooms. Inside the Skelly team, a private, password-protected dashboard shows the statistics and helps with moderation; only people who run Skelly can sign in to it. Our servers, database and email are hosted by Hostinger, who process data for us under their own security and privacy terms. We don't sell, rent or share your data with anyone else, including advertisers. We'd disclose data only if the law required it.
How long we keep it
Your account data, including your play statistics, device type, friends, challenge progress, purchases, gifts, the reports you sent us and email preferences, is kept until you delete your account. Invites to a game room are removed within minutes; friend requests stay until they're accepted or declined, or an account is deleted. Game rooms are removed automatically after six hours without activity. Reports about a name are removed when that name is reset; other reports are kept until the account involved is deleted.
Deleting your account and your rights
Delete your account any time in the game: Settings, Account, Delete my account. This permanently removes your name, sign-in, email, experience, record, rating, leaderboard places, friends, play statistics, device type, cloud save, gifts, the reports you sent us and reports about you from our servers, and resets the game on your phone. You can also email us to see, correct or delete your data, and, depending on where you live (for example in the EU, the UK or California), you may have other rights, such as to object to or restrict how we use it, to get a copy of it, or to complain to your data protection authority.
Security
All traffic between the game and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords and sign-in keys are stored hashed. The admin dashboard needs a password and a one-time code from an authenticator app. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
Children
Skelly is suitable for everyone, but it isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them beyond a player name. If you believe a child under 13 has given us an email address, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top, and tell you in the game if the change is significant.
